"I didn't really think it was possible, to be honest with you," says Smigel of Colbert's one-man show. "He's a force of nature. I don't know who works harder than that guy."
In his hall of mirrors, reflections may be distorted, but never unflattering.
His particular talent is in blurring reality while at the same time illuminating it. In a world where kids on MySpace trumpet a cult of personality just as politicians do on the stump, his act has larger reverberations.
Stephen is amazing. He displays an ability to connect to all age groups. (His focus is primarily with the under 40 crowd.) I am 62, and still find this man funny, so he obviously crosses age barriers. His power to influence people should not be underestimated. He and his staff do their homework, and always know what is going to push the buttons of the population. The only negative comment I have is that I don't like Tek Jensen. I guess that is an "old person" thing. But I do love Stephen.
His manhandling of the subtext of so many situations is pretty powerful at times.
I want to know if Stephen stole Tek Jansen from here
Colbert can give a wink and a nod without it being called stealing can't he? You must be from CNN.
No, I love Stephen, It's just that I own the rights to Jax Janssen.
All I'd want him to do is interview the author on his show. It's actually a science edutainment book for kids who have trouble reading. Most of the schools in Canada love it.
