America sent more cigarettes to Iran -- at least $158 million worth under Bush -- than any other product.
Other surprising shipments during the Bush administration: brassieres, bull semen, fur clothing, sculptures, perfume, musical instruments and military apparel.
The United States sent Iran $546 million in goods from 2001 through last year, government figures show. It exported roughly $146 million worth last year, compared with $8.3 million in 2001, Bush's first year in office. Even adjusted for inflation, that is more than a tenfold increase.
Now that would be the ultimate embargo! Think of it: Hundreds of thousands of pissed-off Persians going through nicotine withdrawl all at the same time. Ahmadinejad would get pulled out of his office and hung in a matter of hours!
Effigies of Joe Camel burning...
Huh. No wonder the price for my bull semen was going up...
Yeah, I'm paying $72 a barrel for mine, and still it doesn't taste right.
ROFLMAO!!!
Theres no need to invade then. Just stop sending cigarettes, anyone who's been around a smoker forced into cold turkey will tell you that some of them will do practically anything for a smoke.
That's a good idea. Blame it on the Iranian government and all the folks without their smokes will go into mad withdrawals and take their country back.
